How prevention can reduce the need for antibiotics

In order to reduce the demand for antimicrobials on farms and move toward healthier and more sustainable agrifood systems, this research demonstrates how governments, medical experts, veterinarians, and food producers may collaborate to deploy additional disease prevention methods. The FAO-coordinated Reduce the Need for Antimicrobials on Farms for Sustainable Agrifood Systems Transformation program (RENOFARM), which intends to enroll 100 countries in the ten-year initiative, is in line with the evidence and solutions offered.
